In the end of 2013 CCIAM was invited to be part of another FCT center, the CENTRE FOR ECOLOGY, EVOLUTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE (Ce3C), based in Lisbon. Ce3C’s main objective is to perform research that addresses societal challenges in ecology, evolution and the environment—the three Es in the Centre’s name, for the 2015-2020 period covering the EU 2020 Horizon.

Our integrated members with Ph.D., plus all researchers, Ph.D. students and collaborators will be now part of a large research center, based in Lisbon, with 101 integrated members in which research questions will be addressed at both the continental and insular scales. We will also keep our Regional unity.

CC-IAM has been involved in several projects in the domains of climate change impact assessment, adaptation and mitigation strategies and development of downscaled climate scenarios.
The group brings together scientists from several disciplines who conduct trans-disciplinary research on both a national and international level.

The group’s objectives fall within five main domains:

  • Impacts assessment: to conduct pioneering research on climate change impacts at local, national, and international levels on water resources, coastal zones, forests, biodiversity, agriculture, public health, tourism, energy demand, and transports;
  • Adaptation: to contribute towards national and global research on adaptation to climate change;
  • Networking: to establish national and international networks in our research areas;
  • Dissemination: to disseminate information on climate change impacts, adaptation and mitigation to stakeholders at all levels.

CC-IAM :: Centro de Impactos das Alterações climáticas: Adaptação e Modelação

O CCIAM (Centre for Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation and Modelling) é um grupo de investigação da Faculdade de Ciências de Lisboa integrado no laboratório S.I.M (Sistemas, Instrumentaçização e Modelação).
